What It’s Like to Work With an Experienced Life Coach

Choosing a life coach is a leap of trust. You’re looking for someone safe enough to open up to, and experienced enough to actually help. So when people ask what it’s like to work with an experienced life coach, I think the most honest answer doesn’t come from me. It comes from the people I’ve worked with.

I’m humbled to have reached 107 Google reviews from the women and men I’ve had the privilege of guiding. Behind every one is a real person who took a brave step and trusted me with it.

What an experienced life coach actually does

Experience in coaching isn’t about having all the answers. It’s the opposite. It’s knowing how to hold a safe, non-judgemental space so you can find your own. It’s reading what’s underneath the words. It’s gently guiding without pushing, and knowing when to sit quietly alongside you instead.

Over more than a decade, and through my own seasons of loss and rebuilding, that’s what I’ve learned to do. Meet people exactly where they are, and walk with them from there.

Here’s how one of the women I work with, Chloe, put it:

“Working with Anna has had a profound impact on me. I have felt so comfortable opening up and allowing myself to explore and express different parts of myself. Anna’s gentle, empathetic and kind nature, along with the way she holds space while gently guiding me, has been both empowering and encouraging. I am so grateful for the growth, awareness and encouragement that Anna has continued to bring into my life.”

That word she used, comfortable, matters more than anything. The real work only begins once you feel safe enough to be honest.

Why experience matters

Anyone can offer advice. An experienced life coach helps you understand yourself, so the change holds long after the sessions end. That depth comes from years of doing the work, with many different people, and from having done it on myself too.

I’m no different from the people I work with. I’ve sat with my own therapist and my own coaches. I know what it is to be shattered and have to start again, and I know, without doubt, that genuine happiness is possible on the other side of it.

If you’ve been thinking about it

If you’ve been considering working with a coach, let Chloe’s words, and the 107 others, reassure you that you’d be in safe, caring hands.

I’d love to work with you.

With care, Anna x
