Speaking at a Women’s Conference This International Women’s Day: Why Alignment Matters

This week I have the privilege of speaking at InspireHER, a women’s conference bringing together women from different backgrounds, industries and stages of life.

There is something quietly powerful about a women’s conference. It is not just about big ideas or motivation. It is about space. Space to think. Space to reflect. Space to recognise where you are and where you may want to grow.

With International Women’s Day this week, the timing feels significant.

At this women’s conference I will be sharing something close to my heart. Why some goals do not come to life, and what truly creates change that lasts.

As an Olympian, business owner and now holistic life coach, I have set many goals over the years. Some I achieved. Some I did not.

The ones that did not happen were not about effort. They were not about commitment. Often they were about alignment.

Lasting change begins with alignment between what we consciously say we want and the deeper patterns influencing our behaviour.

In my talk I will explore why awareness alone is not enough, the fear-based scripts that shape decision making, what it means to step into your own Managing Director, and how to set goals from alignment rather than pressure.

International Women’s Day is often centred around achievement. For me it is also about self-leadership. It is about understanding ourselves well enough to move forward intentionally.

A women’s conference creates a unique environment for that kind of reflection. When women gather, there is honesty. There is depth. There is shared experience. That collective energy can shift something quietly but powerfully.

Growth does not begin with pushing harder.

It begins with alignment.

P.s. If this topic resonates, it is the same philosophy that underpins my M.O.V.E program — a four-month experience designed to help women move from awareness into aligned action.
